CHIN AUGMENTATION

Chin augmentation is a cosmetic procedure that can change the shape and size of the chin. It can be performed by inserting an implant under the skin or by cutting and shifting the chin bone. Chin augmentation can improve the appearance of the lower face, create a more balanced facial profile, and enhance the jawline.

ABOUT CHIN AUGMENTATION SURGERY

There are two main types of chin augmentation procedures: Chin implants and sliding genioplasty.

Chin implants are synthetic materials that are shaped to fit the chin and inserted through a small incision under the chin or inside the mouth. The implant is attached to the bone with screws or sutures, and the incision is closed with stitches. Chin implants can increase the projection, width, and height of the chin. Chin implants are usually made of silicone, but some include Gore-Tex or Medpor1.

Sliding genioplasty is a surgical technique that involves cutting the chin bone and moving it forward, backward, up, or down. The bone is then secured in place with plates and screws, and the incision is closed with stitches. Sliding genioplasty can reduce or increase the size of the chin, as well as change its shape and angle. Sliding genioplasty is also called osseous genioplasty or chin reduction.

CHIN AUGMENTATION RECOVERY

After your procedure, you will receive instructions on how to care for your incisions, how to treat pain and swelling, and when to resume your normal activities.

You will need to avoid hot, spicy or hard foods for a few days and rinse your mouth with an antiseptic solution after each meal. You will also need to avoid strenuous exercise, sun exposure and facial massages for a few weeks.

Swelling and bruising will gradually subside and you will be able to see the final results within three to six months. The results are permanent unless you gain a lot of weight.

ARE YOU THE RIGHT CANDIDATE FOR A BICHECTOMY?

Are you the right candidate for chin augmentation? Chin augmentation is suitable for people who have a weak or recessed chin, an unbalanced facial profile, or a lack of facial definition. It can also help those who wish to enhance their jawline or achieve better harmony between their facial features. Chin augmentation may involve certain risks or complications, such as infection, implant displacement, asymmetry, nerve injury, or dissatisfaction with the results. This procedure can significantly improve facial balance, definition, and overall attractiveness. However, chin augmentation is not recommended for individuals with unrealistic expectations, certain bone conditions, or those who are not in good overall health.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How Much Does Chin Augmentation Cost?

At Ciplastic, the initial cost for Chin Augmentation starts at $2,700 usd. The final price may vary depending on the type of procedure performed (chin implant or sliding genioplasty) and your specific individual needs.

Is Chin Augmentation Painful?

Chin augmentation is performed under anesthesia, so you will not feel pain during the procedure. After surgery, it is normal to experience swelling, bruising, tightness, or mild discomfort in the chin and lower face. These symptoms can be managed with prescribed pain medication and proper post-operative care. Most patients find the discomfort manageable and temporary.

How Long Does Chin Augmentation Last?

Chin augmentation provides permanent results. Whether performed with an implant or sliding genioplasty, the structural changes to the chin are long-lasting. However, natural aging and significant weight fluctuations may slightly affect facial appearance over time. Final results are typically visible within three to six months after swelling fully subsides.
