Dr. Hermes Pelayo, of Ciplastic Hospital, pointed out that there are two fundamental pillars when choosing a clinic: the physician and the facilities where the surgeries are performed.
"First, who are you putting your trust in, who is he, full name and you can research him online, what credentials he has, what certifications, what university he belongs to, what are the associations and colleges he belongs to and you should have access to the information," said the surgeon, Hermes Pelayo.
Regarding the building where the doctor or doctors work, it is necessary to review the health licenses and operating notices, which must be in force and endorsed by the health authorities.
These documents should be visible to patients and if not, the surgeon should be asked to show them as proof of his professional credentials.
Another risk is to be influenced by friends, family or social network groups that encourage you to visit a particular clinic; although the result may be good, says Dr. Pelayo, you should still make sure that it is a place with certified personnel and equipment.
"When they find these little groups (social networks) it is already a red flag of alarm, they should stay away from there, they should know perfectly their surgeon and the place where he is established, these are two of the most important pillars", emphasized the doctor and medical director of Ciplastic Hospital, Hermes Pelayo.
