A Hair Transplant is a surgical procedure that involves moving hair follicles from one part of the scalp to another, where the hair is thinning or balding. Hair transplants can help restore the appearance and confidence of people who suffer from hair loss due to various causes, such as genetics, hormones, medications, or diseases. Hair Transplants are usually performed by dermatologists or plastic surgeons who specialize in hair restoration.

There are different types of Hair Transplant techniques, but the most common one is called follicular unit transplantation (FUT). In this technique, the surgeon makes a small incision at the back of the head and removes a strip of skin with several rows of hair follicles. The follicles are then divided into individual grafts and implanted into the bald or thinning areas of the scalp. The incision is then closed with stitches and covered with a bandage. Another technique is called follicular unit extraction (FUE). In this technique, the surgeon uses a special device to pull out individual hairs from tiny openings in the skin. The hairs are then counted and grouped into grafts that are placed into the desired areas of the scalp. This technique does not leave any visible scars on the scalp.

The recovery time and results of Hair Transplant depend on several factors, such as the type and extent of hair loss, the number and size of grafts used, the skill and experience of the surgeon, and the post-operative care and maintenance. Generally speaking, FUT takes longer to recover than FUE, as it involves a larger incision and more stitches. FUE may require more sessions to achieve full coverage of the scalp.

To determine if you are a good candidate for Hair Transplant surgery, you will need to undergo some tests and evaluations by your doctor. These may include measuring your blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, and weight; checking your medical history; performing a physical examination; asking about your symptoms; reviewing your medical records; performing some tests on your scalp condition; discussing your expectations; explaining to you about different types of procedures; showing you some before-and-after photos; answering any questions you may have. Your doctor will also discuss with you other options for treating your hair loss, such as medications, topical products, laser therapy, and platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP).

At Ciplastic, the starting cost for a Hair Transplant procedure is $2,250 usd. Your final cost will depend on your specific individual needs.

Hair Transplants can have some risks and complications, such as infection, bleeding, scarring, swelling, bruising, numbness, itching, pain, inflammation, poor growth or survival of grafts, unnatural-looking results, or dissatisfaction with the outcome. These risks can be minimized by choosing a qualified and reputable surgeon, following their instructions before and after surgery, taking prescribed medications, avoiding smoking, alcohol, or drugs, eating a healthy diet, drinking plenty of water, protecting your scalp from sun exposure, washing your hair gently, avoiding harsh chemicals or styling tools, using gentle shampoo and conditioner, combing your hair carefully, avoiding tight hats or helmets, trimming your hair regularly, checking for signs of infection or rejection, consulting your doctor if you have any concerns or questions.
