Carboxytherapy

Carboxytherapy is a treatment that involves injecting a small amount of carbon dioxide under the skin. It can be used to treat stretch marks, dark circles, cellulite and excess fat in specific areas of the body. Carboxytherapy is a relatively safe procedure with minimal side effects.

About the Carboxytherapy Procedure

The carboxytherapy procedure is usually performed in a clinic or spa by a qualified technician or doctor. The procedure involves drawing a small amount of blood and centrifuging it to separate the platelets from the rest of the blood cells. Platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the treatment area using a fine needle. The procedure can take from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the complexity of the tattoo. The procedure may cause some pain or discomfort, but most people tolerate it well. Some people may use a topical numbing cream or ice to reduce the sensation.

Recovery from carboxytherapy

There is no downtime after a Carboxytherapy procedure, and you can resume your normal activities immediately. However, you should drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol, caffeine, and salt for at least 24 hours after your session, as these can interfere with the effects of Carboxytherapy and cause dehydration. You may also experience some mild side effects, such as increased urination, fatigue, or mild flu-like symptoms, but these usually subside within a few days. You should contact your doctor if you have any signs of infection, allergic reaction, or serious complications.

Are you a suitable candidate for carboxytherapy?

You may be a good candidate for carboxytherapy if you have a condition or problem that can benefit from the healing and regenerative effects of platelets and growth factors, such as chronic tendon injuries, osteoarthritis, hair loss, or aging skin. You should also be in good health, have realistic expectations, and understand the risks and benefits of the procedure. However, carboxytherapy may not be right for everyone. You should not undergo carboxytherapy if you have any of the following conditions or situations:

  • An active infection, inflammation, or fever.
  • A bleeding disorder or history of blood clots.
  • A heart condition or pacemaker.
  • A malignancy or cancer.
  • A thyroid disorder or hormonal imbalance.
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • An allergy to any of the ingredients in carboxytherapy products.
  • You should consult with your doctor before undergoing carboxytherapy to determine if it is safe and effective for you.

The effects of carboxytherapy are not permanent and can vary from person to person. Most people notice an improvement in their symptoms or appearance after the first session, and the results can last for several weeks or months. However, the results can fade over time as the skin and body are exposed to environmental factors, such as sun, pollution and stress. To maintain the results, you should follow a healthy lifestyle, drink plenty of water and undergo regular carboxytherapy treatments.

Carboxytherapy is generally safe and effective when performed by a qualified and experienced practitioner. However, like any medical procedure, it carries some risks and possible complications. These include:

  • Pain, swelling, redness, or irritation at the injection site.
  • Infection, scarring, or delayed wound healing.
  • Allergic reaction to the products or device used in the procedure.
  • Rarely, lymphatic overload, which can cause nausea, dizziness, or fainting.
